Online shopping is becoming an increasingly easy (and cheap!) way to purchase, with the added benefit of having everything delivered to your door. I purchase quite a bit online myself, usually from eBay or Amazon, but recently someone recommended an online store I had not yet heard about.
http://www.become.com/ is fantastic! It is a complete online store, selling everything from Plasma TVs to baby clothes and all of what you want can be found easily, by clicking one of the useful categories in the left column or by searching something specific using the search bar. However, to me the best part of http://www.become.com/ is that it offers the option of writing a review for a product you may have bought, meaning as a shopper, you get a really good idea about what you are purchasing by reading the reviews.
If you have something in mind for what you might like to purchase, you then have a broad range to choose from, here are just two examples:
I was actually amazed with the jewelry section. I am in the market to buy an engagement ring for my now girlfriend and I did not expect such a range of diamond rings to be available online, prices ranging from a few hundred dollars right up to $42,000!
Even if you don’t want to make an online purchase, this is a great site to do product research. Their search engine provides users with the ability to quickly and efficiently have a look at certain products and get an idea of price too. Also, there are online buying guides available to help you choose the right item for you.
http://www.become.com is fast and easy to register with, their range of products is staggering, I for one am glad I had a look at their site and if this trend continues there is no reason why a lot more people won’t be getting on the online shopping bandwagon in the near future.
In an effort to help even more, I have added a Widget to the side bar. SocialVibe is a fantastic new way to help raise awareness and research funding without having to give your own money, which means we really don’t have any excuses for not doing our part.
It works by connecting the community with brands who have committed to sponsoring a charity, allowing you to spend your time, instead of giving money, to complete short and often fun activities in order to help fund the research.
If you have a spare minute to spare, please click SocialVibe in the side bar and help me do what I can do continue much needed research.
Hopefully one day there will be a cure.

The other night I got a great idea for a new novel, and before I knew it I already have a detailed plan and had started writing the story!
This came out of nowhere, for a while I had been struggling with my other project and it had got to the point where I felt like giving up completely. It was like I had suddenly lost any and all abilities relating to generating original and interesting ideas. Also, unlike my other project, this one will be more fun for me to write, it’s a lot more something I would find myself reading.
I feel that last point is important. The books I have stopped writing halfway through have generally been those that have been pitched to me by others, whether it’s an agent, a publisher or a friend, whereas the ones I have finished are the sort of stories I would actually purchase and read myself. Having said this, it is a lot harder to convince someone to buy your work when it’s of personal interest to you than if it was of personal interest to them.
All in all I guess the old adage is true: enjoy what you do and you will do it well.
I will be posting a small bit of this story on my blog in the near future for you all to read, so please keep checking back from time to time, I will say this though, it’s sort of Lord of the Rings meets Final Destination.

Katy Perry is hot! Marry me!
Lately my work has been screwing me around and I’m now thinking of quitting. They have asked me to apply for three positions lately, the latest one they said I was definitely top of the list. But I will explain the whole story.
Originally I applied for a position where I would be in charge of a group of people across the state, which I was extremely excited about. After the interview the guy who was currently in the position decided he didn’t want to leave, so I lost that role. Next I applied for the job this other guy was supposed to move into, which was even better for me than the original position. I had an interview for this second position only to find out another person in the office was bored of his own job and wanted this one. So again my interview was for nothing. Then I asked, well if Leon is doing that job now, can I apply for Leons old job? But no because Zoe is going into his position because she knows it already.
However, they assure me they want to use me somewhere but are unsure where they will slot me in. Meanwhile I’m seriously sick of being dicked around and I’m finding I’m wanting out.
What annoys me more than this though is the fact that now they want me to go do work that I don’t want to do, and for less money, to ‘prove’ myself to management. But I have ALWAYS done what I’ve been told. I have gone away to country locations at short notice, driving four hours, working six hours then driving another four hours back home, all in one day! Ive done that on numerous occasions now. I went interstate with less than twelve hours notice for two full working days in order to help them out. I am always doing my share of work and on time, often doing someone else’s work too if they are behind a bit. I have done more than enough to prove my worth and frankly I’m sick of putting myself out, either time or money, in order to help them out or to show them I am worth having around.
It looks to me like this will be a never-ending cycle, they will just keep moving people around to try and make others happy while ignoring the ones who truly are valuable workers. I know I would be better off moving on, but when is enough really enough?
From my experiences I am finding out that feeling, you know when enough is enough because your mind and body just scream out and tell you not to put up with it any longer. I am almost at that point now.
I am a very frustrated worker.

Love you Katy Perry!!
Have you ever sat down and wondered why others around you are doing better than you, or why some people seem to be extremely good at something that enables them to really develop in life, yet you don’t even know what it is you are really good at doing? If so, then you felt the way I do right now.
I was never outstanding at any subjects in school, Physical Education was always my best subject in middle school, and English was my strongest in senior school, yet I have never been a stand out student at anything and when I really think about it I don’t see in me any real talents. Some people are gifted with musical abilities, or great actors, others are extremely good with numbers, yet I fail to see any significant strength in myself.
Yes I have dreams, like everyone else, but I don’t see any way to realistically achieve those dreams.
One of my best friends is a computer programmer, he did well all round in school, knew from a very early age what he wanted to study at uni, went on and did it, graduated and is now one of the top programmers in the country. Another one of my friends is working in a prestigious law firm and anther of my friends was in the Miss Universe Australia competition, being edged out slightly by Jennifer Hawkins.
I guess I am a bit frustrated and disappointed that so many people have amazing talents or gifts that have made their lives so much easier, yet I haven’t been dealt a great hand or just haven’t woken up to my true talents yet, so I’m struggling.
What would be some advise able to be given for how to best find what you are meant to be doing in life?
How do you keep following your dreams when you look at your skills and you don’t see what is required to succeed in that path?
Any advise posted here would be great, I’m sure there are a lot of people with the same problem.

So one of my friends has just had a house purchased for him by his parents. It’s not a cheap one either, spending $570,000 AUD, brings me to my blatant question: does he appreciate this?
I haven’t asked him that myself and I don’t believe it is my place to ask such a thing, or to judge based on it, so I won’t, but I can’t help but wonder. Such a significant period in life is now missed. The vast majority of our population would tell you stories about the struggles of either saving for a house deposit or making the repayments at some stage in their life. To have this worry completely taken care of is a HUGE benefit, a massive load of stress taken away from his life. To me there would be no question, anything I have now I have had to work hard for, my parents were never rich, mostly they worked like dogs just to send my sister and I to a decent school, so if they were somehow able to give me even just money for a deposit I wouldn’t know how to deal with that, it would be too much for me and I would more than likely give it back. However I would be amazed at their generosity and I would appreciate even the thought of something like that.
Though, knowing he has had a very smooth childhood, his parents always bought him and his brother and sister anything they wanted or needed, he received a car for his 21st, all his university expenses paid for, they gave him money to firstly gain a deposit for his own house then went out and purchased him one straight out, I cant help but think this behavior is what he would know, something he would have become accustomed to and so would not appreciate it in full.
“I will be moving out of here in a month or two and into a proper house.”
Some people have life so easy and yet they don’t know it.
This debate has been around for decades and certainly the answer is clear: YES!
Though how much is what I’m trying to figure out, so I’m running my own little experiment here, to see if using sex to promote a website will actually generate popularity on its own, without any other promotion.
Before you read further, I am in no way against using sex to sell. I believe as long as a few conditions are met there should be no issue.
1. The individual should know and understand what they are doing.
2. The individual should know and understand where their material will be viewed.
3. The individual should be made aware that there will more than likely be a LOT of 16 year olds slapping their meat over the material, all around the world.
Obviously these are in addition to the obvious, like their are of legal age and are not being exploited in any way. People who willingly use underage girls in a ‘sexy’ manner for any reason should be harshly dealt with by the laws in their country, so too with anyone found to be exploiting people of legal age.
Anything that does not meet all of these conditions to me should be removed and the persons in-charge of the project punished accordingly.
What we are seeing now, with the ‘age of youtube’ are a lot more so called “amateur” clips being shown around the world, which can be somewhat surprising. My question to them would be, do they fully understand what they are doing, and why? Is it all a bit of fun, will they be okay if their clip is taken the wrong way or if they are portrayed in a negative manner?
Whatever their motivation, be it money, fame or just for shits and giggles, their clips are available around the world and will be viewed praised or criticized for years to come.
